Madhuri Dixit

Madhuri Dixit is a well-known Indian actor, known for her roles in the film Beta Saajan and Hum Haiin Koun..! In the late 80s, she began her acting career. She became famous for her role as Tezaab in which she appeared alongside veteran actor Anil Kapooor. Next, she appeared with Aamir in Dil. As a young child growing up in Mumbai's middle class she began to learn how to dance. At the age of 16 She began to act and struggled for years because most of her first films were failures. She eventually found success and was one of the leading actresses on the Indian film business. After her wedding, she took a career break before reentering the film industry. In the last few years, Dixit was a key player in Gulaab Gang a movie about the struggles of women in India. Dixit was nominated for 15 Filmfare Awards, out of which she won eight. The actress was also honoured with the Padma Shri the fourth highest civilian honour in India. In addition, she has been recognized for her efforts in the field of social work.
